my picks:
My Chemical Romance-"Teenagers"
Bonnie Tyler-"Total Eclipse of the Heart"
Nine Inch Nails-"Capital G"

Hey, remember me? No? Ok then. i figured as much.

Here's the thing: Somehow, i let the entire musical aspirations thing rot and die for about two years (and all i have to show for it is this lousy t-shirt...) Something inside me just wasn't ready to fully commit. i don't know if it was because of moving or just getting lulled into the dull routine of grown-up life or something else i can't quite put my finger on, but i suppose the reason isn't all that important. What IS important is the following:

a)i have a new album coming out, like, nowish, called all things in time. The recording is done, the CD layout is 93.47% done, and as you can see, my website is semi-functional again. (By the way, in case you were wondering, my website name got changed from sarahbrosch.com to sarah-brosch.com because some fascist advertising company decided that they wanted to buy my domain name before i had a chance to renew it. i guess because it was getting so many billions of hits everyday that they thought it would be a huge money-maker. Well, joke's on them then, isn't it! HA! Because i'm really...unpopular and..no one goes to my site..and...wait...nevermind. Anyway, the album and such is all very, very good news, as i'm finally feeling creative again, rather than like a complete and total slob of a waste of a life. So, yay. By the way, if you'd like to pre-order the CD, head over to the merch page. And,

b)Since i have a fancy new album and everything, i'm going to try to get some fancy new shows booked. Do you mind if i tell you what my new goal is? You don't? Fabulous. My goal is to a)play enough shows with original music to gain some clout and reputation around here (because although i rarely admit it, i like being recognized (and/or stalked if the timing is right) by strangers, and b)play enough cover shows to make some money, so that possibly c)i can cut down my real-person job to part-time, thus feeling more like a rock star and less like a responsible member of society, and also hopefully d)start writing some freelance shit, or maybe even a book of sorts. So in short, i have a lot on my plate. Thank God i'm starving (which is the name of track #1 on my new CD. Didn't that come full-circle rather nicely?)

In other news, i am now living in a bedroom in my parents' house. In a 55-and-older gated community in the senile capital of the universe. And i know what you're thinking, and yes, it is like being trapped in the movie Cocoon. It's very nice/very cheap digs, though, so i'm not complaining. And i'm saving a lot of money, which helps with my four-part life outline above. And of course, now that i'm back with the 'rents, my mom worries...that i don't eat enough, that i don't sleep enough, that when i'm not home it means i was assaulted and left for dead in a dark alley, that sort of thing. But for some reason, my dad doesn't really give a shit, which of course, is great. It's really not as bad of a situation as i thought it might be, aside from the daily really-super-old-flabby-person-in-a-bathing-suit sighting. i'm really pretty content right now.

Oh, and i'm sort of seeing a new boy now. And from the first five minutes of talking to him, which was probably a month or so ago, i knew i was in trouble. And if he's reading this now, then he knows it, too. Not that he didn't already. And believe me, it's all very hip and casual, which is good for me at this particular point in time. i'm just saying, those of you who know me in any capacity know that i have a weakness for a particular type of boy whether i want to/plan to or not. But to reiterate, hip and casual, hip and casual. And i like it. (And he'll most likely become fodder for new songs, which he may or may not like. But since my songs are more important than his feelings, i guess he's fucked. Just kidding. Not really. Well, sort of. (But not really)).

Alright kids, thanks for tuning in. Look for more updates and the new album soonish.

P.S. So remember how i wrote about seeing Augustana from the front row with Our Lady Peace in my last journal entry from October of 2005? And you'd never heard of them? And now they have a huge song on the radio and on VH-1? You didn't even care before that i got spit on by their singer. NOW i know you're writhing with jealousy. Ha!!!
